SMARTIE ARTS

Hey Everyone, Yesterday i went to Shellharbour markets with an exciting new range of my Kapali Ladies. The weather was great and the store looked fabulous. I have been busy marketing my work, i now have a SMARTIE ARTS facebook page that has links back to this site and also a online shop. The web store on this site will only allow a maximum of 5 works for sale and as you know i have quite a few available. I have meant some great new people through facebook and joined some fantastic arts and craft sites so ...if you want to join for regular updates please join the face book page - Vanessa

Well i have now moved my lap top into my studio so i can now spend more time focused on my art. As i have a job it takes up majority of my time so know in lunch breaks and so on i am able to do bits and pieces here and there. I have a new little desk and the internet hooked up. I am also now able to update the website more often and take photos direct from the studio instead of late at night and than forgetting to upload them.

I have not sold many paintings in the last few months - although i did just sell some craft packs and bits and peices at the Dapto markets 2 weeks ago.

All my paintings from last  year have been marked down some below half price as i need space for new and exciting work.

Today i have started stretching my own canvas and priming so no more buying canvas which will feel good that i have made everything from the frame and canvas to the end result.

well it seems the Kapali ladies are the favourites so i have decided to make a new range. That means new clours and styles and means fun fun fun. Last night i stated painting again, things are always busy here juggling everything. I have started handing out flyers now inviting people to come and view the new and existing artwork direct from my studio. Where we  can discuss new styles, works and colours. This year is going to be a huge year for me, re marketing myself in the hopes that when my youngest son starts kindy next year i will be able to be a full time artist. Hoping to get my works exhibited in shops around the area and even put them on consignment in office buildings. If you know anyone who may be intrested in either a shop or office , please let me know, i appreciate any help you may be able to give,:Dvanessa

once again its that time, to head of to the local markts..Sadly the last few markets were dissapointing as the weather was not so great nor was the crowd. A little sad, i decided not to go to the last 3 markets and give them a miss. But i am back and reducing all my older paintings in a attempted to clean out teh store room and start making new and funky artworks.

Please come and see me and say hi, or let any friends or family know who may be interested in a new and exciting painting to come and see me. Will be huge mark downs paintings are fine just need to clear out, come and grab a bargain, hope you are all well.

well that time has finally came, minus a few touch ups of paint on the outside of the studio it is finished and fully functional.

A big thanks to my brother jamie, and his girlfriend Elle, for all their hard work , as well as my beautiful hubby and father in law and all the friends that came and gave us a hand. I am so excited to get in there and go go go , sadly time has flown with xmas , visitors and school holidays , i have not been able to paint.
But i look in the window and just smile every time i see my studio, its everything i always wanted and more! lets hope it is a big part of my future.

finally the time has come where i need to branch out and get my own space. I have covered all surfaces from blinds, tables, chairs , carpet and floors in the dining room. I want to take my business to the next level and start concentrating on marketing and orders so i will need a permanent space. We have started digging teh footings and has took a few weeks tomove garden beds, trampolines and cubby houses to make room for the new studio !!!!

i will add a new page as the progress develops i will post photos, any ideas, storage designs, colour suggestions or contacts will be great - building as we can , would love it to be done all ready , or this side of xmas would be great - sadly it may not happen
